September 29th - October 3rd

                                                                      Conferences:  Here is the  signup  for fall conferences. Your child needs to be present to lead our discussion, so please keep that in mind when choosing a time. Please let me know if these dates won't work and we can work something out. We have been working hard on the slides in class to set goals!  Science: Due to our schedule, we have science in the afternoon at the end of the day. Students leaving early for appointments are missing the full lessons. All the video links are in Google Classroom.                                                               Nightly Reading:   Wow! Thank you so much for supporting your child with his/her home reading. Our class has been busy finishing books and writing summaries, which has led to lots of great conversations and celebrations. I'm excited to share that many students earned yards/touchdowns this week for their hard work! Extra Snacks:  Students may bring an extra snack for the afternoon. Class snacks should be simple and quick to eat with no mess to clean up. We do not provide an afternoon snack since the kids have all eaten lunch.  We are always in need of extra snacks to keep in the classroom for those who forget.                                                                  NWEA:  Students will take the acadience reading screener on Tuesday, and they will take the math NWEA test on Wednesday at 10:00 and Thursday at 9:00. We hope all testing will be completed by the end of the week. Please consider not scheduling appointments in the mornings  if possible . Students can bring in gum or mints to have during the test. The results from the tests are beneficial for our teacher team to use to get to know your child as a learner and begin to set learning goals. You will be hearing more about the scores and goals from your child in his or her student-led conference.
